It wasn’t so long ago that the role of the Executive Assistant was perceived to be that of a secretary, managing their bosses diary, handling basic logistics and booking travel.
Today, with many of the traditional tasks of the secretary handled by ever evolving technology, the role of the EA has expanded to include a wide range of business, managerial and human skills including amongst others project management, strategic planning, office management, budget management and human resource management.
The Executive Assistant Network (EAN) was born out of a recognition of this change in the role, and a realization that whilst the EA is critical in providing support to, and enabling a significant boost in productivity for their Executive, its importance in the organisation is still not fully appreciated.
EAN today is a community of senior Executive Assistants, from a wide range of industries, who can connect with one another, further enhance their skills and knowledge through tailored training and conferences, and work together to celebrate the role of the modern Executive Assistant.
Our goal, very simply, to support our members throughout their career as an EA, to inspire them to ever greater achievements in their work and personal lives, and to advocate for the role within the organisation and wider community.
